Mariana is a registered clinical mental health counselor intern and an active member of the SAIGE-FL division of the Florida Counseling Association (FCA). She received her Master’s in Counselor Education at Florida International University in 2022. Mariana has experience working with adolescents and adults in facilitating psychoeducational groups related to safety, coping skills, boundaries, psychological flexibility, etc. Mariana takes an eclectic approach to therapy and uses the foundations and techniques from the acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) model, solution-focused therapy, feminist theory, and narrative therapy. In addition to her interest in research and advocacy, she is actively growing as a professional and embraces any new evidence-based psychotherapy models and techniques. Mariana believes that every client is a unique individual with their own story and deserves compassion, understanding, and a safe, non-judgemental space to be heard and process their story, emotions, and trauma. She strives to give the education and tools needed to help clients understand themselves better and succeed independently outside of Kinder.
Our reintegration team keeps clients focused on a successful path once they return home. We firmly believe that follow-up, accountability and aftercare are all pivotal pieces to the recovery process. Our program is designed to guide and lift-up clients once they leave our mental health facility, exemplified through our support coaches who partner with clients on their recovery.
We have an innate understanding of the spectrum of women’s mental health needs and specialize in trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other mental health-related conditions.
