Kinder in the Keys is a private, women-only residential mental health treatment center specializing in trauma and trauma-related conditions.
Trauma and abuse is not your fault. When past experiences begin affecting your relationships, emotions, sense of safety, or ability to function in daily life, residential treatment can provide the time and structure to focus fully on healing.
Our small, women-only environment combines evidence-based trauma treatment with individualized care in a private residential setting in Key Largo, Florida.
100% Women-Only Residential Care | Private & Confidential | Insurance Accepted
Residential treatment provides time away from everyday demands so you can focus fully on treatment. At Kinder in the Keys, women live in a small, structured environment where care is individualized and support is available throughout the treatment day.
Residential care at Kinder includes:
The goal is not simply to manage symptoms while you are here. Treatment is designed to help you understand what is driving them and build skills you can continue using after you leave.
Trauma does not look the same for every woman. You may notice changes in how you think, feel, relate to other people, or respond to everyday situations.
The National Center for PTSD provides additional information about common reactions that can occur after trauma.
These responses can continue long after the experience itself has ended. Effective trauma treatment focuses on understanding what is happening and helping you develop healthier ways of responding.
If these symptoms are interfering with your daily life, residential treatment may be worth considering.
A small women-only setting can make it easier to speak openly, build trust, and participate fully in treatment without the distractions of a large mixed-gender program.
Treatment is individualized to each woman and may incorporate evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, cognitive and behavioral interventions, and skills for emotional regulation when clinically appropriate.
Kinder in the Keys maintains a small residential program so women are known by their treatment team. Care is individualized rather than built around a large institutional model.
Our clinical team works closely with each woman throughout treatment. The small program allows clinicians to understand what is happening beyond scheduled sessions and address issues as they arise.
Trauma treatment is not one-size-fits-all. At Kinder in the Keys, treatment addresses the experiences that brought you here, the patterns that developed around them, and how those patterns continue to affect your life today.
Our goal is to help you do more than understand what happened. Treatment is designed to help you change the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral responses that continue to interfere with your life.
